The patterns of collective depression are one of the most persistent traits of our modern Western societies. The fast-flow of information leaves no possibility for the individual to effectively assess his emotions and it leaves doubt in all cases, whether we could make the right choices or not. Depression however also serves as an inspirational source and a solid foundation for art. This not only helps the artist to overcome their challenges but also helps the observers to resonate with it through their individual struggles. Gallus feeds on these negative emotions which can lead to doubt and restlessness. He works through systematic solutions that facilitate the understanding of these contemporary and chaotic mental processes, which appear in harmonic unity on the canvas - just like nature itself.
